Start backing upNative Git
Use ordinary clone, fetch, pull and push commands. No custom client required.
Create by pushing
Choose a repository path. Your first push creates it automatically, including nested project namespaces.
Browse backups
The protected administration interface provides a repository overview, file browser and commit history.
Quick start
git remote add backup https://backup@gitcopies.com/team/project.git
git push backup --all
git push backup --tagsWhen Git asks for a password, enter any dummy value. For a full mirror, use git push --mirror from a mirror clone.
Open Git endpoint: any non-empty username and any password are accepted for Git operations. Anyone who knows a repository path can read or modify it. Use dummy credentials and do not upload confidential repositories. Administrator credentials protect the web administration only.
HTTP is also supported for Git transport; HTTPS is recommended. This project provides an additional Git copy, not an off-site or immutable backup guarantee.
